The Film Fatales organization, together with Anarchists United, has brought together prominent voices from trans and queer cinema in an online discussion to talk about filmmaking and the power of authentic storytelling as a tool for meaningful change: Lilly Wachowski (The Matrix, Cloud Atlas, Bound) and Fatales Forward fellows Gulet Isse (Khutbah), Hao Zhao (All Fixed Up), Helen Peña (Crossed Veins/Venas Cruzadas), Kyle Casey Chu (After What Happened at the Library), and Roberto Fatal (Electric Homies). Moderated by StormMiguel Florez (Welcome to Roswell), the guests discuss their experiences from different vital and professional perspectives.

The discussion is part of Fatales Forward, an innovative program that supports emerging filmmakers in their first feature film about trans experiences, with mentoring, workshops, and ongoing professional development. This grant allows them to work on their first or second feature film and offers ongoing support for artistic development through a three-month mentorship program with established figures in the industry, an intensive professional development course, and creative workshops.

With this program, Film Fatales seeks to create a platform from which to promote the presence of creative voices that do not conform to the gender discourse. It includes a list of recommended readings to expand on issues of inclusive representation and trace a queer history in film direction.
